MEMO

To:  James and Lorraine

From: Hevea

Subj: Storage

Greetings, James and Lorraine!

Thalila asked me to describe a dream to you  that we have shared repeatedly over quite a while. I think it's one of our most favorite dreams.

There are two problems: idleness and focus.

When Thalia and I have finished our work for the morning we often have an hour or two of idle time before the noon meal, etc.  We would like to write during these times but cannot seem to concentrate. There are too many distractions.

So, we have a problem of 'storage'. We like tight, confining spaces, so that suggests some sort of 'box' in which to 'store' us when we are still on duty but have nothing left on our to-do list.

The other problem - that of 'focus' -  could be addressed by putting a laptop computer in the box with us. Maybe box our head so that it's the only thing she can see.  Except for the light from laptop, the space is seriously dark. There is ONLY the laptop in the box.   The Box is the world, for now. Nothing else exists.  And she cannot move anything except her arms at the keyboard. All she can is Be. And write.

   Focus?

   Maybe.

p.s. I noticed that there is an empty compartment under the bottom 5-6 steps of the kitchen stairs that go up to the 2nd floor.  It's a weird, triangular space just about wide enough for us and if we sit on the floor in there, there's room for our legs.  We'd probably need to modify the latch on the (weird, triangular) door so that I can  open it from the inside.
